The Rietveld Academie Fashion Show is the annual presentation of the Fashion Department of the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam. This year the Rietveld Academie Fashion Show presents the graduation projects of JAKOB HODEL, FLEUR VAN HEEZIK, SOPHIE HUIZINGA, TOM HUIJBEN, RUBEN JANSSEN, HANNE JOHNE, VERA LELIE and EMMA MILICEVIC, as well as a selection of work by first and second year Fashion students.
From forgotten crafts, to socially engaged topics such as (bi)cultural identity and representation, and from personal research into memories to refreshing ways of working together – this year once again reveals how students are increasingly embracing hybridity in their work.
No longer allowing themselves to be defined by the traditional frameworks of fashion, they explore new territory beyond existing boundaries. This is your chance to become part of a unique event with shows, performative acts, participation and conversation. Included in the ticketprice of either of the shows is entrance to the afterparty.
